ReplyDeleteAny reference books for paper V in the new syllabus? Ethics, Integrity & Aptitude .. what the hell! Please any reference book for paper V .. any help greatly appreciated! I am sure a lot of us are anxious about this specific bit of the syllabus.
ReplyDeleteDear MaxP,
DeleteInclusion of Paper V is an appreciated policy decision of Dr. Singh that is quite appropriate to the exigencies of present time. Paper V seeks to test candidates' moral and ethical values and their ability to uphold integrity and probity. So, if you believe that you are an honest man whose desire to join the services is motivated by his wish to serve people and land, then there is no need to refer to some source of theoretical guidance. If otherwise, then you are not fit to join. So, in any case, there is no need to refer to books. In fact, to be truly worthy of service, you must try to inculcate values and ethics by self introspection and also by learning about the philosophical basis of lives of great leaders like Gandhi ji.
PS: Don't try to ruin this wonderful innovation by turning it to some sort of frenzy of rote learning/memorization of guidebooks, notes etc. This paper must be attempted in its true spirits.

ReplyDelete@admin,
ReplyDeletesir, kindly suggest new method of study for mains. As it has been changed, its really difficult to cope with senior players. Please tell the best approach to new pattern of mains..
Although I am not the admin, I would like to take a shot at answering this question. I don't think that we need to ( explicitly ) change the method of preparation for the general studies part of the civils. The books and topics to be covered would remain the same. Only their depth would increase because now we have four papers on general studies-each dealing with a different topic(s). Other than that, we only have to prepare one optional so we can focus all of our energy on the general studies.
Deletei would like to know whether we need to choose one optional subject or 2 op sub like it was done previously?
ReplyDeleteWhy we ignor hindi time to time
ReplyDeleteI want to know that can i take upsc exam m simple BA graduated person my age 28 year i knows english but nt much more can i done the exam
ReplyDelete@Akshit Rana, you can take the exam, However, assuming that you belong to the general category, you have only 2 attempts to go. As you have done BA, the humanities part ( which is spread in the entire paper ) shouldn't be a problem for you. As far as english in concerned, since Civil Servies Exam is a reading-intensive examination, you really don't need to work explicitly on your english. All the material ( books, newspapers and magazines ) that you'll be reading for the preparation of this exam should even cure your weak ( if there is any such thing ) english.
